Ecómetro was created in 2020 in Spain by capitalising on the know-how and IT systems developed by Ecómetro Association (NGO), with more than 15 years of experience in Green Building and Life Cycle Assessment (LCA). Its current lines of business are environmental consultancy for buildings and urban developments, the development of ad-hoc environmental certification systems for public administrations, and the technological development of LCA systems and Environmental Product Declarations (EPD). Its clients include the Ministry of Justice, the Basque Government, and WWF. The company has a clear R&D orientation; in fact, among its founders are PhDs with recognised academic and professional experience in building modelling, urban climate, sustainable certification schemes, and LCA.
