Our Sustainable Mission

At aRTes, our sustainable mission is driven by strong partnerships and shared values, guiding our objectives and activities toward regenerative urbanism, rooftop transformation, and resilient futures.

The objectives of the aRTes project reflect a comprehensive effort to rethink how rooftops in Southern European cities can contribute to urban sustainability. From technical innovation to social impact, the project sets out a roadmap for transforming rooftops into productive, climate-resilient, and community-oriented spaces.

aRTes brings together a diverse consortium of universities, research institutes, SMEs, municipalities, and civil society organisations from across Europe. Each partner contributes unique expertise in areas such as architecture, engineering, urban planning, sustainability, digital innovation, and community engagement.

The project is structured around a series of interconnected activities that include research, design, prototyping, digital development, community consultation, and testing. These activities collectively support the transformation of rooftops into multifunctional spaces that integrate renewable energy, green infrastructure, food production, and innovative logistics.
