Bringing aRTes Innovations into Real-World Testing
Work Package 6 focuses on validating the solutions developed throughout the aRTes project through real-world pilot activities. By combining physical installations, virtual simulations and stakeholder engagement, WP6 provides the framework for assessing the technical performance, usability, scalability and replicability of the project's innovations.
From Innovation to Demonstration
After years of research, design and development, WP6 represents the stage where project outcomes are brought together into integrated pilot environments.
The objective is not only to demonstrate individual technologies, but also to evaluate how they function as part of a complete rooftop ecosystem. This includes physical rooftop infrastructure, digital tools, monitoring systems, logistics applications and governance frameworks developed throughout the project.
The lessons learned from these demonstrations will support future rooftop transformation initiatives and provide valuable evidence for wider adoption.
Building the aRTes Pilot Ecosystem
WP6 combines contributions from all technical work packages to create a comprehensive validation framework.
The pilot environment integrates:

Physical and Virtual Pilot Platforms
The pilot strategy includes both physical and virtual demonstration environments.
A flagship physical pilot is being developed in Madrid, providing a real-world setting where rooftop technologies and services can be installed, tested and monitored over an extended period.
Alongside the physical pilot, several virtual pilots will simulate rooftop interventions using digital tools, geospatial data and digital twins. These virtual environments allow partners to evaluate solutions under different urban contexts while reducing implementation risks and costs.
This hybrid approach ensures that both technical performance and transferability can be assessed across multiple locations and scenarios.
